Behind the chair
Amanda trained as a cosmetologist in Ohio and worked behind the chair before opening her own salon, which she owned and ran for seven years. She hired, rented booths, bought the insurance, sat through the inspections and wrote the checks.
Behind the clipboard
She then joined the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board as an inspector and spent fourteen years inspecting salons, barbershops, schools and tanning facilities across southern Ohio.

Today Amanda is a licensed account manager at Stockton-Hill Insurance LLC, an independent agency in Kingston, Ohio. She helps Ohio cosmetologists, barbers and salon owners choose liability coverage, get certificates to their salon owners, and get ready for inspections. She writes and reviews every Ohio guide on this site.
